I am just about to start my Matthew George Young Stockman Award study tour, where I will be touring around Canada and the United States for 3 months, lucky me! I will be visiting a range of enterprises, including seedstock and commercial beef producers, feedlots, abbatoirs and other aspects of the beef industry. I hope to be able to learn a lot about breeding practices, programs, developments and new innovations and technologies within the beef industry in these two countries, and be able to bring home with me what I have learnt to help better the Australian beef industry in some way. This award provides such a wonderful opportunity for young people that are keen and want to learn more about the beef industry, and a chance to look first hand at beef production in other countries. If you are aged between 18 – 25, don’t forget to to apply for this award! See the page above (The MGYSA) and then click on the link! Applications close June 30th.
Canada, here I come!
